Founded by Juan José Bellapart, The Museo Bellapart is located right above a local Honda dealership and houses the world's finest private collection of Dominican Republic art.

Visitors to the museum will find art from four distinct periods in the history of art from the Dominican Republic:

The Precursors – Features works that followed independence from Haiti in 1844. The exhibit includes impressionist, romantic and neoclassical works.
The First Masters – An exhibit of the early modern artists in the Dominican Republic.
The Exiled – Works from the '30s and '40s created by artists escaping the dangers of Europe at the time.
The Vanguard – an exhibit featuring the diversely influenced Dominican painters of the '50s and '60s

The Museum is located at the corner of John F. Kennedy Avenue and Dr. Luís Lember Peguero.

The curator, Paula Gomez, is always willing to give visitors a free tour but do call her in advance to schedule a time.
