On a quiet street in residential Santo Domingo, the Galeria de Arte Candido Bido sizzles with tropical color.

As described in Caribbean Connection magazine, “A stunning array of ripe orange suns, violet skies, cinnamon-colored women, and dazzling yellow flowers” – signature colors created by the artist and sold at the gallery – jump off life-size canvases.

Bido is one of the Dominican Republic’s most renowned contemporary artists, yet only a few visitors stumble upon this gallery within easy reach of the Colonial Zone.
