This exclusive community constructed on the Río Chavón a little over four years ago is a charming replica of Portofino on the Italian Riviera di Levante.   The marina, with 40-something-plus slips (and growing), fronts two rows of pastel-colored villas built along a curvaceous promenade lined with upscale boutiques, art galleries, al fresco restaurants emitting a unified seductive call to join La Dolce Vita.

And like the famed coastal town it aims to imitate, the marina has developed into a favored haunt of the local beau monde, Spanish A-list celebrities, as well as villa owners and guests of the adjoining Casa de Campo, the top ranking golf resort in the Caribbean.  For our dining and shopping recommendations see separate reviews in the EAT and SHOP sections of this site.
