This otherwise unremarkable restaurant is the place to go for lunch or dinner in this laid-back fishing village. Señora Bartolina d’Oleo, the proprietor, turns out delightful fish and seafood meals such as conch (called lambi locally) smothered in one of three sauces: a tomato-based creole, vinegar, or creamy garlic ajillo sauce.

Locals feast on the chewy mollusk with rice at lunchtime or pieces of fried green plantains at dinner. Having spent time in Spain, the doña picked up a few good culinary secrets, which she often incorporates into her traditional Dominican recipes.
