Not so long ago,
clients queued up for take-out of Emilio’s gourmet
sandwiches in lines that stretched from the walk-up counter through a
narrow alley and past an array of businesses. Today, an al fresco
patio with bistro-style seating and the occasional jazz quartet
provide a more sophisticated setting. The only line Emilio’s
loyal clientele have to wait in now is the one to get into the
popular restaurant, especially during lunch.

The ensalada del
mar
salad with chunks of fresh calamari and sautéed
asparagus drizzled with a balsamic dressing is sensational. We also
recommend the Tío Sam sandwich, stacked with various
meats and cheeses.

The same menu is
available during evening hours, but for something a little more
filling try the grilled angus steak, the baby back ribs
or the Emilio’s burger served with gorgonzola cheese, bacon
and onion dressing.
