Caffé Milano
is one of those places that seduces all who enter. Perhaps the allure
is the sexy four-poster beds in the courtyard, or the darkly handsome
mahogany bar indoors. Both are no doubt responsible in part for
drawing the well-heeled clientele that has been frequenting this
highly regarded restaurant since it opened.
Much of the credit,
though, goes to the chef who obviously knows his way around preparing
authentic Italian dishes that are memorable but not overly fussy. One favorite is the surprisingly simple yet fabulously flavorful
mozzarella and tomato garnished with basil. Pizzas with a dozen choices of
toppings are reasonably priced and wildly popular, as are the
delightful homemade pasta dishes. Try the slow-cooked tomato sauce
with beef and vegetables served over spaghetti, or tagliolini with
prosciutto and creamy Scamroza cheese. Desserts are very well done, too;
the white and dark chocolate mousse is rivaled only by the homemade
gelatos. We recommend you avoid feeling conflicted and simply order both!
