What started out as a humble eatery
specializing in typical Dominican food has grown into a chain of
restaurants around the city with locations that are as much fun to
dine in as the food is good. The Malecón location is
especially pleasant for its waterside setting with multi-level decks
which protrude over the ocean.
Try the mofongo, mashed green
plantain and garlic with bits of crispy pork rind served in a pilon,
the mortar and pestle used during preparation.
All meals start with a complimentary
taste of sancocho, a savory stew made with seven different
types of meat. The casual menu also features exceptional burgers, a
variety of sandwiches and grilled steaks and chicken.
If you’re traveling en famille,
try the Lincoln Avenue location in the upscale Piantini
neighborhood; the restaurant is set in a rainforest which kids find
very entertaining.
