Porterhouse is a classic meat lover’s paradise, where the waiters are real pros at making diners feel lucky to be in their hands.
Dining incognito, two female EDS reviewers arrived at the restaurant sans reservations, yet the hostess, without missing a step, had them whisked to a table in the center of the room immediately. Then came the flurry of attention: one waiter appeared with a hook from which he hung one diner’s purse from the edge of the table, another presented the menu, while yet another took the cocktail order.
The stuffed peppers with béchamel sauce is extremely good as is the simple caprese salad. The tenderloin cuts like butter and the Spanish-style blood sausage is delicious.
The dulce de leche cheesecake stood out as an obvious winner on a well-stocked dessert trolley.
An overall splendid experience, they even offered a pashmina shawl to cover bare shoulders “in case the doña is feeling cold”.
Personalized wine lockers line both sides of the restaurant’s alcove from ceiling to floor – a testament to the dedicated clientele.
