In a city packed
with sushi restaurants, Samurai is the only one in Santo Domingo to
offer a full-blown Japanese menu, and in a pleasantly authentic
setting, too. Patrons gaze through giant windows onto a peaceful koi
garden. Dine at a regular table or choose to sit on cushions at a low
tables inside a series of rooms separated by sliding rice paper
doors. We recommend ordering a number of dishes and then sharing
around the table. Start off with a big bowl of edadame,
followed with miso soup and the kaiso algae salad. The
mixed vegetable and shrimp tempuras are excellent. Round out a
wonderful Japanese meal with fried ice cream flambed right at your
table… and a little sake to wash it all down.
