An attentive
bow-tied wait staff and a prominent display of mariscos,
from which you can pick your own fresh fish or lobster, welcome the patrons
of this popular lunchtime hotspot. The exhaustive menu also features
octopus, crayfish, and a dizzying number of seafood soups (we
recommend the casserole cantabrico con mariscos).
The Spanish also love
their beef and pork, and El Cantabrico offers up around twenty
cuts of meat including some very nice jamón Serrano.
One big surprise: the availability of decaffeinated coffee, which is
decidedly un-Spanish! A large wine list leans heavily on Spanish and
Chilean selections.
